In the first clip (contrast) I left in the direct sound, I felt that the original sound was an essential part of the scene, particularly the typing, and that any change may have altered the flow of the scene.

In the second clip (symbolism) I added a voice over primarily to better explain the scene and how it related to symbolism as I felt that might be a little confusing in the original scene.

In the third clip (simultaneity) I added post-synchronization dubbing in the form of footsteps. I did this to further emphasize the climbing of the stairs.

In the fourth clip (parallelism) I again left in direct sound this was to ensure that I kept the conversation between the two characters intact.

In the fifth clip (leitmotif) I added music specifically Can't Touch This by MC Hammer because it directly related to the hammer time dance the characters from the scene were doing.

Filming Week 1

This week my group did our practice run for our film. We took some practice shots in order to see what shots would work best for conveying what we wanted to show through our film, with a focus on suspense.  This is from a shot of me running from the beginning of the opening. The shot follows me as I run past the camera. This gives the audience the feeling that I am being watched which adds to the suspense. While the shot worked fine, we found it was a little difficult to film, so we decided the camera moving alongside me would be better. This shot shows my dead body from the end of the opening. We decided a high angle shot would work best as it would show the viewers my whole body. However, we noticed it was difficult to get the shot as the high angle made filming my whole body difficult from the horizontal angle.

Editing Week 1

This week we began editing our film opening. After we uploaded the footage to Adobe Premiere Pro, we started by cutting our film. All of our videos had tons of extra footage of pauses, and us yelling cut, these needed to be edited out along with any other dead footage. We also lowered the exposure of the video to add to the suspense, but this had an inverse effect of increasing the volume. We also began adding in the music that plays through my headphones throughout the opening.
